listen up fellas…

Having a skincare routine isn’t only for the ladies these day. Especially in your 20’s, proper skincare should be essential to everyone. I do realize that some men don’t have an interest in skincare & beauty as much as women, but the amount of guys I know that don’t take care of their skin honestly scares me. Do you realize how much grime & sweat that seeps into your skin throughout the day? It will eventually catch up to you… it’s called aging! Luckily, I have put together a quick & basic men’s skincare routine for the everyday lad.

(shoutout to my friend Levi for inspiring me to create this post)

Cleanser.

Whether you have sensitive, oily, or combination skin (to find out which skin type you are, click here.) you should probably go for one that cleans deep without drying out your skin. With all the different ingredients promising to help you with your certain skin type, it can get pretty confusing. Opt for one that balances your skin while providing moisture without oil. Balancing cleansers are usually the perfect fit for skin on any side of the spectrum.

Moisturizer.

Moisturizing is key to any skincare routine, but most men skin this step. Let me remind you that aging sneaks up on you & applying a moisturizer can help prevent fine lines & wrinkles. Keep your moisturizer in the bathroom & apply to damp skin after cleansing.

My friend, Levi, came to me thinking he had dry & oily skin. Throughout the day he felt his skin get a little oily, but when he emerged from the shower, it felt dry. I came to the realization that either he wasn’t moisturizing enough to where his skin felt dry or that the moisturizer he was using was causing his skin to feel oily. I offered him a moisturizer that was rich & soothing, but also made of natural ingredients (no silicons or fillers added to cause an oily feel to his skin).

Eye Care.

The spot where I realize men start to age is around their eyes. The skin in that area is thin & sensitive, so when it’s not taken care of properly, you get bags, wrinkles & droopy eyes. This may seem like a little more work than you had hoped but luckily, there is a quick & easy way to give your under eyes a little lovin’. It’s a handheld tool that has a little metal ball on the end that you roll under your eyes.
