Pinecone Fire Starters
homemade christmas gifts are my jam...
I think they have a cozy, personal feel to them. Knowing someone took the time & energy to create something by. hand really melts my heart. These Pinecone Fire Starters are perfect little gift or stocking stuffers, but be sure to not use them to roast marshmallows over! If your loved ones don't have a fireplace, click here for my Tea Infused Room Spray. The essential oil blend I've used for this tutorial is my Phoenix blend which you can purchase here or make your own with the ingredients below.
What You'll Need:
- 10-12 Pinecones
- 1 cup of Soy Wax Flakes
- 5 drops of Cedar Wood Essential Oil
- 5 drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil
- 3 drops of Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil
- 2 drops of Clove Essential Oils
- Wax Paper
(*this tutorial is customizable so you can pick any scent of essential oils you'd like, but you want about 15 drops.)
What To Do:
- Add soy wax flakes in a heat-safe glass bowl. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir & repeat until the wax is fully melted.
- Drizzle in the essential oils & stir. Dip the pinecones in the mixture partially & place on a sheet of wax paper to dry.
- Continue to dip & dry until there's a thick coat of wax.
- You can tie a ribbon to the top of them to create a cute Christmas ornament or put them out as decor.
