Festival Fringe Belt

I’ve been searching high and low for a fringe belt.

You know the ones on every Coachella Pinterest board? The only ones I could find cost waaay more than I was willing to pay and weren’t exactly what I was looking for. So I decided to make my own! This tutorial is very easy and doesn’t take much time.

Step One:

Put the belt around your body so you can measure how much material you'll need.

Measure out velcro & fringe to desired length.

Step Three:

Finally, there should be a little section behind the buckle that won't have a piece of fringe on it. Measure out a smaller strip & repeat the steps above so there's no gap.

What you’ll need:

  • Black Belt (of your choice)

  • Velcro

  • Fringe

  • Measuring Tape

Step Two:

Peel off the sticky side of the velcro & attach the fringe. Now here's the part I learned the hard way... put the two pieces of velcro together & don't peel off the other sticky side (the side you're going to attach to the belt). The fringe will be more narrow than the velcro & you'll need to cut both pieces to create a thinner strip.

Once you completely cut the velcro so it's thinner. Peel off the other sticky side & attach to the inside of the belt (the side you won't be able to see when worn)
